FREE Buffalo Check Digital Papers
Updated: Feb 20
Do you covet that farmhouse chic style? Love the lumberjack look? Check out these digital papers for your next creative project! ⇩
I created these patterns, and now I want to share them with you!
But what even is "Buffalo check"? Well, a Buffalo check pattern is a type of plaid. When it was originally designed back in the 1850s, it was made up of alternating, overlaid red and black stripes, much like a gingham pattern. But the squares in a Buffalo check are characteristically larger than the squares in a gingham pattern.
And apparently it got the name "Buffalo Check" or "Buffalo Plaid" because the original designer was an outdoorsy kinda person that owned a herd of buffalo. Cool.
Nowadays, buffalo check patterns are any color of the rainbow. But I still love that original red & black style. It distinctively reminds me of cozy flannels and farm-fresh anything. I can easily imagine using these papers for a Northwoods-inspired baby shower or maybe some decoupaged farmhouse chic decor.
These files are just a sample of what you get when you purchase my Diagonal Buffalo Check Digital Papers Pack on Etsy. They're all high resolution, seamless (or tileable...whatever word you want to use 😉) and come in 4 different sizes, from small to XL.
